GDPR and Purple Carrot Recruitment

GDPR is a new set of rules designed to give citizens more control over their data. GDPR is designed to reflect the world we’re living in now and bring laws across Europe up to speed to these modern days of the internet. Every aspect of our lives nowadays revolves around data. From various social media companies to banks, retailers, and government, almost every service we use involves the collection of our personal data. Your name, address, credit card number and more are all acquired and stored by various organizations.

So what does this mean in terms of recruitment?

Here at Purple Carrot Recruitment, we take your privacy seriously, regardless of GDPR coming into play or not. We will only use your information to administer your account and to provide the services that you have requested from us.

Should it be temporary, interim or permanent job search.  These details are in our secure online database (chameleonI) and are used to communicate with you, our candidates and clients. Whether that is actively looking for the next career step or to remain on the database if not actively seeking a position, but contactable for the possibility of further career prospects.  This information is in the form of your CV and or supporting job seeking documents. So that you are in control, we send out regular emails which allow you to update your details and to Opt-in or Out. The good thing is our information and communication are current and up to date.

GDPR will apply across the European Union from 25 May 2018, so hence Purple Carrot Candidates have been receiving these emails the last couple of months.
